Contract Agreement for the construction of 298 houses in Ga.Atoll, Villingili, Maamendhoo, Nilandhoo, Dhaandhoo, was signed on Monday.

The Contract signed at a ceremony held at Ministry of Planning and National Development was awarded to Vimlaa Construction. Under the terms of the contract, 298 houses are to be completed in 420 days.

The government has decided to provide compensation of  RF 500/- per person to B.Fehendhoo residents who want to relocate to B.Goidhoo temporarily. The compensation will be provided to them until the construction of their permanent houses are completed.

Under Population Development and Consolidation Programme (PDCP), it is decided that Kulhudhuffushi Urban Area will be developed including Kulhudhuffushi, Nolhivaram, Nolhivaranfaru and Hanimaadhoo. Under the Consolidation Programme this area can be developed if a regular ferry system is build up.
