  1. Movement is basic to life.
  2. Brain-injured children need to move as much as possible.
  3. It is vital to create an ideal environment for the brain-injured child to move.
  4. In order to move properly a child must be on his belly, not on his back.
  5. Any device that restricts or inhibits movement can be harmful to a brain-injured child.
  6. Movement enhances respiration and increases oxygen to the brain, resulting in improved brain function.
  7. Movement improves the structure of the body.
  8. Movement develops vision.
  9. Movement increases intelligence.
  10. Movement improves digestion, elimination and health.

  1. Give your child the opportunity to move as much as possible.
  2. To create the ideal environment for movement, give unlimited space and a clean, warm, safe floor.
  3. If your child can crawl on his belly(ފިރުކުމުގެ ފުރަތަމަ މަރުހަލާ) , have him crawl as much as possible.
  4. If your child can creep on his hands and knees(ފިރުކުން) , have him creep as much as possible.
  5. If your child can walk, have him walk as much as possible.
  6. If your child can run, have him run as much as possible.
  7. It is very wise for you to crawl, creep, walk, or run alongside your child.
  8. Whatever physical activity your child can do, allow him to do it completely independently.
  9. Whatever physical activity your child can do independently, have him do it frequently but for brief periods throughout the day.
  10. Make each session with your child joyous and successful. Success creates motivation, which creates more success.

  1. Do not place your child on his back.
  2. Do not limit your child’s opportunity to move in a safe environment
  3. Do not restrict your child’s opportunity to move by holding him for long periods of time.
  4. Do not put your child in clothing that restricts his movement.
  5. Do not keep your child in any device that restricts or inhibits movement (wheelchair, playpen, backpack, stroller, braces, or swing) unless you are transporting your child.
  6. Do not place your child in a walker – it can be dangerous.
  7. Do not try to help your child by touching, pushing, or supporting him when he is moving or trying to move.
  8. Do not force or bribe your child to move.
  9. Do not correct or criticize the way your child moves.
  10. Do not exhaust your child or allow him to overexert himself.
